Information we handle

The website does not provide public user accounts or a general contact form. If you contact us by email, we may handle your name, email address, organisation, message and any information you choose to include. Rackometry Business trial registration and purchasing are described in the separate business privacy notice. Please do not send client-confidential rack, asset or security information until we have agreed an appropriate transfer route.

Our hosting and security providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, including an IP address, browser or device type, requested address, referring page, request time and security events.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to respond, take steps requested before entering a contract and manage any resulting business relationship. We use limited technical information for our legitimate interests in operating, troubleshooting and securing the website. We may also retain information where necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Providers and international transfers

Information may be processed by suppliers that provide website hosting, content delivery, security and business email. This includes Cloudflare for website delivery and protection. If you accept optional analytics, Google also processes website-usage information for Google Analytics. We require providers to handle information only for the relevant service. Where information is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards where required.

Cookies and analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, traffic sources and pages viewed so we can improve this website. It may use first-party analytics cookies and receive technical information such as a page path, approximate location and browser or device details. We do not send rack records, form entries, licence keys or payment-card details to Analytics. Analytics is not loaded before you accept, and you may reject it or change your choice at any time using the Privacy choices control. We do not use advertising cookies or behavioural profiling through this website. The hosting platform may use strictly necessary technology to deliver and secure the site. How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Retention

Enquiries that do not become customer work are normally retained for no more than 24 months. Contract, invoice and business records may be retained for up to six years after the relevant relationship ends where needed for tax, accounting or legal purposes. Technical logs available to KMB are normally retained for no more than 30 days unless a security incident or legal requirement justifies longer retention.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of your personal information, and to receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier processing. We do not sell personal information, use it for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, or send marketing without a lawful basis.

Children

This business website and our services are not directed to children.

Rackometry

The Rackometry application has a separate application privacy policy covering local rack records, photographs, catalogue searches and App Store purchases.
